Lake Frontage

Low House includes exclusive use of a private Lake frontage area and shared use of the owners private jetty. There is a fenced area of a half of an acre which is ideal for picnics, swimming, paddling, fishing or launching dingys, canoes, and windsurfers. This is the ideal setting for a perfect ‘Swallows and Amazons’ experience.

For those who wish to launch a larger fixed keel boat there are two adjoining marinas with slipways where weekly hire of a mooring buoy or use of a pontoon can usually be arranged.

Fairfield Marina – www.ullswatercaravanpark.co.uk/the-marina Tel.017684 86666 (Raymond Dobinson).

The lake frontage is approximately 300m from Low House across the adjoining field with a hard track for easy car access. However it also makes a lovely stroll. Our children love playing pooh sticks on the bridge across Pencilmill Beck.

Directly opposite our Lake Frontage is the Ullswater Yacht Club where daily membership can be arranged. There are various ‘open’ races throughout the year in particular the LORD BIRKETT TROPHY – one of the largest open boat races in the country. There is also ULLSWATER WEEK, ULLSWATER REGATTA the NOVEMBER SERIES and various other open class races for Lasers, Wayfarers etc.
